Westminster Presbyterian Church started in 2002 as a weekly bible study group, held each Wednesday at the home of one of the members. After several months of meeting in this manner, the families who attended the bible study (five households in all) contacted Ross Graham, General Secretary of Home Missions in the OPC, expressing their interest in establishing a mission work in Carrollton.
Westminster's first official Sunday service as a mission work of the OPC was held on February 10th, 2002. After meeting for the following several months in members' homes, Westminster was then moved to a local community center. Finally, in 2003, the church began meeting at the Seventh Day Adventist church building on Oak Grove Rd., which is its current location.
In the autumn of 2005, Westminster's search for an organizing pastor ended with the calling of Michael DeLozier, former pastor of Reformation OPC in Rocklin, California, to our pulpit.
The Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) is steadfastly committed to the glory of God. She has seen his hand guide, protect, and even reprove her in the short sixty-plus years of her existence. She was born out of persecution for the sake of the gospel, nurtured in adversity, and strengthened as she sought to fulfill her Master’s call. She strives to keep her eyes fixed on Christ Jesus, her Savior and Lord. By the strength of his Spirit she endeavors to live righteously in full obedience to his Word, her only rule for faith and life.
